On behalf of our students, whanau, teachers and Board of Trustees, we warmly welcome you to Mangaroa School. We are a semi-rural primary school catering for students in Years 1-6.

Nestled in the picturesque Mangaroa Valley, surrounded by lifestyle blocks, farmland and forestry, our school provides a wonderful learning environment. We have the benefits of the country education and then only being 5 mins from the city of Upper Hutt!

Our students are outdoor creators. They climb trees, build huts and get muddy.

Our GROW (Values) are displayed both inside and outside of the classrooms. BYOD operates in Y4–6 and student agency is evident across all year groups. Hero (Linc-Ed) is used for online reporting.

With approximately 120 students, parents know each other by name, see the school as the heart of the community and actively participate in school events and fundraising activities.

Only 45 minutes from Wellington city, Mangaroa students and staff experience the benefits of both country and city life.
