Each year staff organise a range of EOTC adventures for our students.  EOTC stands for Education Outside the Classroom where learning and teaching extend past the four walls of the classroom.

EOTC activities provide opportunities for students to grow personally, increase their self-confidence, develop a sense of adventure and enhance their responsibility for their own and others’ safety. The following EOTC Overnight Experiences will be offered bi-annually at Mangaroa School:

• Year 1 and 2: Overnight experience at school with whānau
• Year 3 and 4: Wellington Zoo Sleepover (1 night)
• Year 5 and 6: Camp (2 nights)

We believe this scaffolds all tamariki into having enjoyable and successful overnight experiences across their time at Mangaroa allowing them to feel comfortable stepping outside of their comfort zones and trying something new as part of our EOTC programme.
